Brian FitzGerald joined Altera as chairman in April 2006 after an extensive career in banking including commercial banking, investment banking and private banking. He has worked in Australia, South Africa, Singapore, New York and London.
Most of his career has been spent with Standard Chartered Bank (1977-1991) in various directorial positions, including Managing Director of Standard Chartered Merchant Bank Asia, Executive Vice President of Standard Chartered Bank, New York, Director of International and Corporate Banking, London and Head of Private Banking, London.
More recently, Brian, had chief executive responsibilities with Riggs Bank (2000-2005), then Chairman and CEO of Liberty Syndicates, subsidiary of Liberty Mutual of Boston till 2012.
Patrick P. Coppens

Patrick is a Founding Partner of Altera Partners Management Ltd. (AP), a privately owned investment management company established in London in 2003 and Partner of LQI established in 2013.
Prior to founding AP, Patrick held senior positions at Lehman Brothers and Nomura International the fixed income derivatives division. Patrick was also in charge of Bankgesellshaft Berlin ’s USD 15BN trading book in exotic fixed income derivatives.
Patrick has considerable expertise in managing portfolios, risk management and software development.
Patrick is a frequent speaker at hedge fund symposiums. Patrick has a Financial Engineering Degree from the Solvay Business School, Universite Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).

Mark Joined Altera in 2014 as Partner and Head of Business Development
Mark has over 20 year experience managing funds for institutional clients and high net worth individuals through a globally based asset management company which he founded. He has extensive experience working in Asia and is fluent in Japanese.
Mark also founded a global capital raising distribution business focusing on alternative asset classes with offices in Asia and Europe. This venture successfully raised early stage capital for a number of hedge funds, real estate investment projects, and other investments.
Mark is considered an expert and specialist in alternative investment strategies, hedge funds, commodities markets, CTA’s and global investments. During his time in Japan, Mark was founder and director of one of Japan’s leading Forex and Securities companies, FXA Securities, which was later sold to Man Group.
Mark received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business Studies and Economics from Greenwich University in England, and was a Research Masters student in Economics from Tokyo University. He has authored two popular books on the hedge fund industry in Japan.
